26 people from Hiiumaa and 14 from Saaremaa LEADER Action Groups (LAG) took a study trip to Rügen (Germany) on the 6-11th of September. The aim of the visit was to exchange experience, to get knowledge on local LEADER projects in Rügen and to meet people. Of special interest were projects on local food and local product, energy and management of harbours.

“During 3 days of stay in Rügen we saw interesting developments,” said the Mayor of Kärdla Georg Linkov, a member of the delegation. “As Kärdla starts to build the harbour just now, it was very interesting to learn how harbours are managed in Rügen and how a harbour can help to increase the number of jobs in the town.”
